As a global company with the footprint of a small country, we know we make a big impact on the world. And with that comes a responsibility to make sure we do right for the many communities where we work and live. One way we do that is through our Mars Volunteer Program (MVP), where Associates give their time and talents to causes important to them, from animal welfare to environmental activism. It’s our way of taking action today to create the world we want tomorrow.
In the U.K., for example, our Associates logged more than 100,000 volunteer hours in 2018 — positively impacting an estimated 130,000 people and more than 100,000 animals along the way.
“I love being able to share my knowledge with fellow Associates who’ve never had the opportunity to do this type of work.” — Andrew McLeman, Hosting Senior Analyst
And the accolades followed, with the Slough Business Community Partnership (SBCP) naming our Mars Global Services team “Company of the Year,” and Mars Wrigley receiving a “Highly Commended Certificate.” SBCP has more than 60 local businesses weighing in each year to award the top companies making an impact on the community through their volunteer efforts.
Andrew McLeman, Hosting Senior Analyst for Mars Global Services, cherishes his role as his team’s MVP project manager.
“I love being able to share my knowledge with fellow Associates who’ve never had the opportunity to do this type of work,” Andrew says. “Most volunteers I speak to at the end of a finished project agree that it’s so satisfying to look back at what we achieved. It feels good to know we made a real difference!”
